purpose and activities

The purpose of the European Family Justice Observatory (EFJO) is to enhance the capacity of all actors to understand and apply European Family Law effectively in practice.

To this end, the Observatory provides independent, balanced, practice oriented online videos by experts in the field on European Family Law for legal practitioners and others interested. The Observatory is of particular interest to lawyers, mediators, judges, officials and decision makers.

The Observatory was launched in March 2012 and is based in Rome. It was founded by Susan Clements, former EU Justice and Home Affairs Policy Advisor (UK Law Societies), Assistant Lawyer (European Court of Human Rights) and Associate Solicitor (Allen and Overy LLP and Hogan Lovells LLP).
